Beautiful, but the whole time I was there I could only imagine it's beauty if the area was still in it's natural state. I personally prefer narrow slot canyon with 400+ ft walls and rivers to a giant lake. (Photo was taken en route to Rainbow Bridge)
Sights are breath taking. Walking out on the bridge is amazing albeit nerve wracking when a big truck drives by and you feel movement! The dam is truly a phenomenal man made structure. Museum displays with large viewing windows, and gift ship were excellent. Will always be a stopping point on drives down to AZ.
The Horseshoe Band is one of the nicest places in that region. Its amazing the sheer size and awe of this place. We have been there a number of times and it never lets us down. Easy access simple hike to and from the place.
One of the most beautiful places on Earth!! There isn't a lake in the world better than Lake Powell. The hiking trails to the most beautiful arches and scenic overlooks with the red rocks is a must see! The little beaches and coves are perfect for the kids to run around and get rid of steam. Little lizards that they can chase for hours. They can play in the sand on the shore and swim all day. The water is perfect. I live this place!!!!
It's a fun place it is what you make it. It depends on what you're camping in how you like to camp. They do have clean restrooms and fishing off the dock can be fun. The boat ramp is nice.
